Signs your business has outgrown spreadsheets
Spreadsheets are wonderful — until they quietly become the system your whole company depends on. Here are the warning signs.

Spreadsheets are the most successful software ever made for a reason. They’re flexible, immediate, and everyone understands them. They’re also where a lot of growing businesses accidentally build their core operating system — and then hit a wall.
The warning signs
You know the sheet is doing too much when: only one person really understands it; a wrong click can break everything; you keep several “versions” that never quite agree; and reporting means an afternoon of copy-paste. At that point the spreadsheet isn’t saving time — it’s a risk.
The fix isn’t always a big platform. Often it’s a focused system that captures what the spreadsheet does well, removes the fragility, and connects to the rest of your tools. The goal is to keep the flexibility and lose the risk.
